Cast by the renowned Royal Canadian Mint, the 1.5 oz canadian silver arctic fox is the second coin in the series following the wildly popular Silver Polar Bear coin. The Royal Canadian Mint is known for its high quality standards and the consistent desire to change and become better. One way the RCM has displayed this is by minting coins that are 1.5oz, instead of the usual 1oz. By minting a silver coin that has such an unusual weight, collectors and investors are lured in by the lack of space needed to store these slightly larger coins. The Royal Canadian Mint started a series a few years back called “The Wildlife Series.” This series took off in popularity and some years remain the highest sought after coins the RCM has ever minted! Although the 1.5 oz canadian silver arctic fox are not officially a part of that series, they are still considered a sibling and have become world renowned themselves. Each mint sealed tube contains 15 coins and Monster Boxes hold 300 coins.
Your 1.5 oz canadian silver arctic fox contains 1.5 ounces of pure .9999 fine silver. The coin’s diameter is the same in measurement as the prominent Silver Maple Leaf but because of the added half ounce of silver, its thickness has increased instead and measures at 4.5 mm thick. The reverse features a richly detailed arctic fox, perched at the edge of the tundra gazing watchfully. The obverse features the famous image of Queen Elizabeth II designed by the internationally acclaimed Canadian artist, Susanna Blunt.
