Rod "Scooter" Herring

CEO / Co-Founder

Mr. Herring has an extensive background with management experience in finance, IT, new product development, product management, and manufacturing combined with an education in geophysics and an MBA from The American Graduate School of International Management – Thunderbird. Mr. Herring has built over 30 years of professional business experience focused on generating new ideas and process improvements and then building those plans from concept through commercial deployment. This entrepreneurial background includes tangible consumer products as well as web-based businesses and virtual processes. Rod is a patent co-holder on 7 patents for business processes and IT systems that streamlined supply chain partners in the electronic components industry.

Mr. Herring started his career and a trading assistant and runner on the Pacific Stock Exchange in San Francisco where he helped start an options trading support business on the trading floor. He moved on to work as a licensed series 4 commodities broker and also held a position with Bear Stearns on the fixed income trading desk in San Francisco. Mr Herring went on to grad school where he lived and worked in Germany attending the European Business School for MBA classes and held an internship at Audi AG in their product marketing department. During grad school, Mr. Herring was a paid teaching assistant in Corporate finance and followed that with a consulting position with Andersen Consulting (Accenture) working in the newly minted Process Re-engineering division working with best practices in strategy, process improvement and IT during the pivotal early days of large enterprise system development and intense outsourcing and off-shoring.

With the well-rounded and extensive formal training at Andersen, Mr. Herring went on to start work with various new, start-up and incubated business concepts working across most departments from IT to marketing to mergers and acquisitions to logistics. Parent and incubated companies spanned the Dot Com era and include: PCMall, WhatsHotNow.com, Motoreyes.com, CarStation.com, AuctioNet.com, uBid.com, Toytime.com, iSuppli, and eCost.com. Several of these businesses entailed IPO preparation, roadshow and funding activities. Others made it through initial angel and then venture funding phases. Mr. Herring was extensively involved in those efforts and selling.

More recently, Mr. Herring leveraged the multi-disciplinary experience into companies that he either founded and/or owned a major stake. The industries include purchasing assets Alena Internet Corp’s operating assets from My Space.com and assisting a merger with eForce Media. He was co-Founder and finance principal at Lead Data Direct and Red Rock Secured where novel processes and software were constructed to support Fannie Mae mortgage loan modifications, valuations and sales. He is also the founder and principle at Lyte Industrial Services, LLC which is involved in defining and developing new engineering solutions to environmental issues around solids and waste water recycling. Joint Ventures spanning environmental cleanup problems in North and South American include: Eco Squared Solutions, Ironkast.com, Nap Industries, LLC and Clear Bleu Solutions, LLC.

As an undergrad student and again later on as faculty and staff, Mr. Herring attended and worked on the Semester At Sea floating campus completing multiple circumnavigations on the college ship spanning several semesters and visiting major developing countries. Mr. Herring was a student for two semesters in the spring of 1983 and 1984 and then as a Field Office Coordinator in 1991 and Assistant Dean in 1998.

Sean J. Kelly

President and Co-Founder

Sean J. Kelly is the President of Red Rock Secured. He is well known in the financial services industry from Chicago where he worked at the Board of Trade to Los Angeles, CA where he has worked at multiple financial firms. Early in his career he found his passion for sales, specifically identifying and implementing more ethical and transparent sales practices. He has built his career around refining these practices and prides himself on the development of young sales executives entering the corporate world. His true passion is grooming these young professionals and giving them the skills to succeed.

Sean J. Kelly was previously the Vice President of Augusta Precious Metals, a position that he held since August 2014 to January 2017. At Augusta Sean oversaw the development of the entire sales floor & operations. Under his guidance the company grew from $200,000 to $3 million in sales in just his first four months at the company.

Sean then went on to sell more than $31 million in precious metals his first year at Augusta Precious Metals. He hired and trained twenty-eight new sales account executives, bringing the total to thirty, and twelve operations staff members. All in all, he was responsible for more than forty employees, managing client relationships and continuing to encourage corporate development.

Prior to joining the Augusta Precious Metals team, Sean was a Senior Account Executive at a nationwide gold company, where he was a top ten broker (out of seventy-two) between 2010 and 2014 and where he managed more than 20% of a sales floor that produced as much as $500 million in annual sales. Previously, he was a Sales Manager at uFirst Financial between 2008 and 2009 and an Investment Consultant at P.P.I. between 2003 and 2007.

Sean is a widely recognized expert in his field. His particular areas of expertise include ethical sales training, commercial lending, banking, credit analysis, portfolio management, mortgage lending, credit risk, loans, risk management, and financial analysis. In 2015 he received the Certificate of Achievement from Dale Carnegie Leadership Training for Managers at Fremont College of Southern California.

Sean is a civic-minded individual who takes an active interest in his community and in helping others. He has volunteered his time with K9’s for Warriors and raised donations for the Wounded Warrior Project, working hard to make a positive impact on the world around him. Outside the office, his hobbies include playing chess and Boxing Training with Olympic Medalist Tony Jeffries at BNB Gym in Santa Monica where he is a certified BNB trainer. He shares his home with his wife Monique, daughter Kiana & son Greyson along with their dog Lemon and their two cats Denver & Cali. His favorite vacation spots are Ireland and Costa Rica. Sean Kelly was born in 1976 in Dallas, Texas. From there his family moved to Denver, CO where his family still resides today.
